Concept Development
First Colour Publication on Fish (1754)
Book published by Louis Renard containing “a total of 415 fishes, 41 crustaceans, two stick insects, a dugong and, in a final foldout, a solitary mermaid.” I was inspired by the fish seen below. The organic curvature of the design on the sides of the fish intrigued me. I wanted to play with repetition and placement of the circular designs to see what I could create. My Broken Infinity Wallpaper is directly inspired by the drawing below.
The Wallpaper
Wallpaper designed on Photoshop.
By placing each broken infinity flipped vertically across from each other and placing the two in a position to have a relationship with one another while creating a whole piece which pieces together.
